DSL or DialUp? May be okay with d-up, but since this is mostly graphics, it may take time to download some of the contents.

Lowdown: Who just adores Pon and Zi, raise your hand! *raises both* This is the home of the cynical but amazingly romantic androgenous characteres, Pon and Zi--created by Jeff Thomas, an 18 year old art student. You may have encountered them as part of blog layouts or phone themes, and Jeff may point out specifically how he hates them people who profit from his works, but legal issues aside, this site is going to give you good laughs and will make you reminisce of the better times when you were young and stupid and vulnerable to love. Or maybe not.

DSL or DialUp? Little Rocket may prove to be d-up friendly as I've been browsing this before I was in DSL, but the newer site may contain information that would be better off with broadband.

Lowdown: I have been a fan of his works since MTV Ink days (and yes, even the older MTV Philippines as well), and counting since 2004, he has not failed me yet. Avid, other than being a director and a great illustrator, may prove to be a candid blogger as well, so you may want to check and look around the site for some of his works. He's the pretty much the best filipino illustrator I have so far in my book, so that's saying much.

DSL or DialUp? It may come around as a little disappointment to D-up people once you've come around to downloading or previewing some of the works, but it may be worth the wait.

Who wouldn't be proud of Team Manila? Originally starting out as a team creating projects for Magazines and other local stores, they have now tapped the better market, being commissioned to work for Nike Philippines, and even venturing out with their own clothing/lifestyle products, all--you guessed it--proudly Manila, if not proudly Filipino. Ang Pambansa.com, which showcases their works, will give you a reinvented sense of Filipino pride: with Rizal on the shirts or even your local carinderia on your wallet, it will definitely prove "Filipino Made" CAN be world class.

lowdown:
I met Marcushiro in a gig about two years after I met Bru--when she was then an illustrator for MTV Ink, and Marcushiro a band key player. Years after, Bernie Sim and Marcus Nada still does what they're very much good at--illustrating "Strange Creations" which are reminiscent of korean/jap animations (not sure if similarity is intended) not only for their joint website, Electro Lychee, but also for Team Manila. And yes, they did a stint with Nike as well. *jealous, jealous*

Lowdown: Believe it if I say I found this site while surfing myspace when I don't even have an account. Boreddesign makes me want to go back to Thailand with a mission: kidnap all the people involved and keep them in my closet. They are somewhat reminiscent of Team Manila in some aspects, but they can be somehow Jpop in some aspects as well--which makes their designs endearing. I just wish they made their website better, although the gallery designs make up for that loss.

DSL or DialUp? You may not be able to complete the whole thing in one seating, so thank your computer for the temporary internet files forder. You might be able to download and view the whole site after three log-ins. If you'll be spending time on it, you might be able to download and appreciate the whole thing in about 5 or so hours. Pages require somewhat heavy flash downloading.
Item/s of note: Won the FWA Site of The Month

Lowdown: Whoever thought of the pop-up story book idea was amazing, except it appears in the movie anyway. I'm a Cyborg But That's Okay (or Saibogujiman Kwenchana in Korea) is a film realeased about December of 2006 by director Park Chan-Woon who's also responsible for the pride films of Korea like the Vengeance trilogy and also known for his twisted but award winning humor---but all the hypes were considered useless even after a Sundance and Berlinale nomination: although what cyborg may have lacked in the film, made up for its surreal but colorful website. Flipping through the pages might get you wanting to buy the film as well.

Lowdown: Jesus, it's Scrubs humor. Or maybe not. But his talent can be very underrated, and so's his humor. ZachBraff.com lets you bask on longer sarcastic blog entries, great playlists plus some exerpts on either his new movies, or some films he has directed.

DSL or DialUp? Very d-up friendly.

Lowdown: Only a true blog enthusiast would be able to explain how life can evolve around a mere conection of words to form a great masterpiece. Then again, also a true blog enthusiast can explain the frustration of not being able to disclose much information and talk in broken cryptic messages when your aunt discovers your blog. Heh. Originally meant to serve as a secret ranting place, initial works on Bipolar79trance will take you to deep cryptic messages which can usually be understood by those who either knew her, or on the same plight. It later evolved as a main blog, transitioning from the orginal blog in Xanga, then later on placing the wackier entries in Multiply, but still never failing to entertain.

Lowdown: John Ernie's one of the people who blog because of his kabaklaan. Haha. I remember that the title of this blog was majorly influenced by his bestfriend who's a basketball junkie, and while Jay's a frustrated bb player, he's frustrated with love as well (foreplay not included). He used to have better blogs though when he had more time, but everyone's busy making millions now.

Items of note:

Lowdown: He used to set flames to anyone who'd question sports, and I found out the secret when I entered HF that he's a winner/receipient of the PBA sportswriting contest, at the same time writes for UAAPGames.com and moonlights as a sports writer for PDI. Jesus. You can't expect much personal experiences in his blog unless it's coming from the hard court. But you gotta give him credit for writing them in a rather interesting way.
