So I was supposed to post this hastily on Facebook because I really wanted to get some rest, but I figured since this is coming up on FB anyway, then might as well post it here. Got this from my usual twitter-hopping through Katwo Librando-Puertollano’s feed, and shit yeah, this is effing cute. Award-winning director Sofia Coppola was about five-years-old when this was recorded by her father “for posterity,” and it kind of made me want to snatch my brother’s recorder and do a session with my own niece. Imma hafta be creative though since that kid doesn’t like talking if there’s a camera around. I’m wondering where she got all that shyness. I’m stubborn and a little snobbish, but I’m usually not shy. hahaha. Well. At least back when I was five or six. Then puberty hit.
If you’re checking this through mobile, better mark this page and view this through a computer, mate. Didn’t work for me the first time either.
Check the recording here. Song starts at about 2:45. She goes, “Perlas ng sinamonan” (actually, I SWEAR I almost heard “cinnamonan” hahaha). She also tries to count in Cantonese, but some of the numbers I recognize to be Thai, but maybe they just really sound alike.
I’ll let you guys listen to it. I’ll try to blog later before I prolly hit Saguijo, but tell me how you like this recording!
