Unnecessary tanning and lovely lovely balloons
by jc on 15 Feb 2010 @01:00AM under : Backpack, clickers | Tags

Andrea said 2010 is the year of impossibilities. So…I’m starting them out pretty good:

Some Greek stuff – done January
Resetting of feelings and on to platonic things – done January (haha, bullshit ito, really)
Back to gigs – January
Back to writing – January
Back to backpacking – February

Well, they’re not impossible, but they’re mostly impossible for me till this year, anyway.

So. The idea came after one dinner and a carrot cake surprise after–some of us might be going to Clark for the hot air balloon festival, you might want to go. Apparently, kasama ako sa invite. *laughs* It’s something I have always wanted to go to to check out but never got around to doing, so I figured it’s apt. Buti na lang rin. Rein wasn’t able to make it as he ran to Tarlac, so that kind of scratches out Yang in the equation.

So, it’s me and Cass’ friends: David, Peter and Sas. The named three I have met previously, and David I met again after him joining us in a Techy Romantics gig (and bringing heavenly, heavenly butterscotches from Iloilo), so they weren’t entirely strangers. And Cass, well, she’s always around. Stranger not quite.

So Peter picked me up from Q Ave at around 5 in the morning, headed to West Ave to change cars, then went to Subic. Cass said that it would be wiser to skip the morning part considering not everyone would make it early (bane of the nocturnals and, well, we all came from odd shifts) and planned a beach trip instead for everyone. They’re pretty much still full of energy (except for me) and were throwing banters around in the morning (something about Gokongwei because of his odd, odd banks) and made it still relatively okay at Camayan Beach Resort by around 9pm. They boys and I pretty much stayed in the shade (I’m scared of too much tan) while Cass and Sas, both wanting a new color, stayed under the sun as much as possible.

Amit, my boss, was insisting I join them for an over night stay in Subic, and Richard was apparently joining along with Doc, but by 3pm I was already tired, so when we all went to Clark to catch the night-flying, it turned out to be a good decision to make it a one-day trip, anyway.

(sorry, I would have told you guys more, but I’m kind of tired just writing this in, too.)

But! I’m back to uploading 200+ pics again! Yay! Facebook’s a bitch lately and it degrades the photographer-wannabe in me by resizing my pictures and taking out all the beautiful colors, so let me give you my lovely, lovely links:

On a weird side, I might have to pay Flickr if I would keep up with these kinds of massive uploads, soon. Saaayh.

Ang galing, no? La lang. :}

I actually kinda forgot that I said that about this year, haha. How Dory-like of me. Anyway, I think a very impossible goal for me would be: To stop buying anything from bookstores. And by anything I mean that aside from books I should also stop buying school and office supplies. Sigh.

Hey! I just sent you an email. Check your gmail account. :) Sorry, long delayed na yun. Basta naisend ko. ^_^ You have something for office supplies? I have something for sparkly things. *laughs* Nah. Usually paper. Dati. If only moleskins are cheap, andami ko sigurong binili. :P

What happened to my long comment? Sigh. Anyway, got all of ‘em, thanks so much! :)
Ganito ako ka-adik: For last Christmas, my wishlistS contained: Pretty notebooks. I now have more than 5 of ‘em, *gleeee*.
And you might want to try the imitation Scribe or Green Apple. They look, smell, feel and taste just like a real Moleskine, but they only cost around Php200. Zafra did some comparing with pictures etc. in her blog.
And don’t get me started on pretty pens/coloring materials/art supplies. Oh and paper too. I’m one of those collecting-stationeries type of kid. Plus we used to sell them, PISO.PER.PIECE. We thought we were being smart entrepreneurs but we were just basically smartasses haha.
Ang hardcore no? :) YAY NATIONAL!

What long comment?I just checked my spam filters, parang wala namang naharang. :(

I think, the difference would lie on whether you’re a sketch artist. Kasi, I remember the reason bakit mahal ang moleskins, is because I think they’re acid free? Or base free, I can’t remember which. Apparently, such cases with paper, it has a tendency to make the drawings deteriorate. I dunno, I haven’t exactly made a comparison just yet. I have these huge-ass notebooks right now, though–ruled ones, which came as small gifts from a friend. They’re more of binder refills, though. Pero I like them kasi parang anlakilakilaking spaaaaaace. :P

I used to have this frenzy over pens as well–pag nagpupunta akong National Bookstore, lagi akong naghahanap ng “the perfect pen.” hahaha. I found it in M&G, kaso naman lagi na lang akong ninanakawan ng ballpens dito, nafrustrate lang ako. haha. I still do every once in a while, pag nakakaiwan ako ng pen. Dapat talaga may automatic akong pen sa bulsa. Mas gawain ko na lang ngayon, pupunta sa Mini stop, tas bibili ng pen and index cards or, at one point, yung bio data fill-out paper nila. Para mura, dos lang e. Tas malaki na siya. To scribble random thoughts. :P I have taken to writing them in my iphone, but somehow, mas authentic pa rin ang paper-pen tandem. :P

Haha. This is going to sound totally pretentious, but I don’t really care: I bring a pocket-sized notebook with me everywhere. It has a garter in it for a pen, and I like that it’s compact. :) I have a tendency to lose things, so this is me trying to be more organized.

Re long hair short hair. God, I have this short hair fetish. I don’t know why, but I am more attracted to girls with short hair, for me, it just makes them stand out, and I know for some people they think it’s a huge deal to have their hair cut short, so girls with short hair just seem so confident and gutsy and feisty for me. But that’s just me and my weird fetishes :)

  6. jc Says:

Actually, I know. But I like girls na looking girly pa rin. Kasi, like ikaw, you can pull it off. Have you seen my old pics? Grabe, ang maton ko kaya. Hahaha.

naiinip ako sa office nakakasawa tong ginagawa ko:))) sana matapos ko na to para iba naman pero dahil pumipetiks ako malamang di ko to matatapos agad

  8. Undria Says:

Haha at useless fact about moi: I’ve never tried having long hair.

Para may automatic new things. Haha.

@Andrea: Talaga? Actually, I can’t remember you in long hair na. I think I remember seeing a pic of you na long haired, but I might have been halucinating that. XD
