Another event, from Ger’s friend Chabs: Exclusive all-girls party at Mugen Bar, Metrowalk Ortigas. About 9 or 10pm, depending on how late you come around. P200 entrance, P28 beers. I’m not sure if entrance is inclusive of beer, though. BUT, lots of girls, femmes, sbs, bs, bis, and cat fights. And no, Nani, if you’re reading this, you’re not allowed. You may be a very yummy guy, but yummy guys are still not allowed. Or just guys in general.
Eggie’s not coming, but Stacy, Dei, Ger and I will, and Sarah from college will be coming as well. So that would also include her girlfriend Bench, plus other minions, plus other DL folks. So that’s kind of…a lot. Want to be a part of the list? Just message.
And of course, we have our usual SaGuijo, Bed, and Freedom Bar. Plus Greenbelt. Tarush. Kita kits. Message me if you want to come along. ![]()

If you see my site update with suddenly so many blog entries with different dates, forgive my incapability to update real time. Our computer is still down, as much as my brother claims it’s fixed.
I’m actually worried that there’s a really bad worm that not even formatting can fix. He says the pc is fine, has been re-formatted twice or thrice, BUT, whenever *I* use it, internet explorer becomes faulty, then the pc crashes altogether. it just restarts by itself. He says it doesn’t happen to him, though. I’m now more worried because it’s either a very bad worm that hates me, or some ghosts pulling my leg because I’m mostly doing the net at around 1am.
Still. Would you really risk having to install lotsa programs only to find out you won’t be able to use them anyway because the pc’s gonna crash on you? And Adobe Photoshop doesn’t even have auto recovery.
+_+
Up to how much emo can I tolerate at this point? Whoosh. If it weren’t for the fact that my limewire is down, I would have been on a The Sundays downloading spree.
Wala lang. Minsan kasi fun maging happy song ang something unhappy.

Something according to Kym, a batchmate:
“Di, yung kapitbahay ko kasi. Sabi nila, I have to be polite (to the person she’s waging war with)… you–STOP FUCKING MY BROTHER!!!“
Shet. Pwede ko bang sabihin din yun sa akin? Stop. Fucking. My. Brother.
Kaso they’re married. Paano yun?
*laughs ridiculously*

You mentioned something about pc rebooting by itself when opening the iexplorer. i had the same problem before when accessing the internet. you didn’t say if you are getting a message notif or whatever so i’m just assuming things:
1. shutdown the windows system update. older xp bootlegs detected by MS shuts down the terminal.
2. pc crash can be interpreted as getting too much to run all at once. trim down the programs that your pc is loading during start up (msconfig.exe). uncheck the ones you suspect is causing the crash.
3. i’m not sure if it should be the iexplore.exe trojan (aka generic.vbs, but this is cleanable with AVG). if you have one, your brother should experience the same problem.

Hey, thanks. Problem is, I think it might be one of those peer to peer progs that did it in. It’s crashing just a few minutes (or even seconds) after xp loads. You get the desktop picture, the icons, but soon, you get the blue screen claiming physical memory dump, and then poof, it just goes on a loop, restarting everytime.
The computer has undergone about more than 3 reformats by now, but one thing my brother noticed is it crashes between about 12am and 5am. Although it does crash at any time sometimes, it’s just that it experiences the worst crashes (ie, xp not loading versus just internet explorer crashing)at that time.
You kinda wonder–reformatted 3 times, installed both xp service pack 2 and windows 2000…and still we couldn’t fix it. What do you suggest?
btw, we have avg for our virus scanner. I’m not sure if it should matter whether it’s better if it’s the paid one or not. Ours is the free version. It updates frequently, but I suppose it wasn’t good enough.

you got that so-called blue screen of death (bsod). too many reasons and/or hunches why it shows up. it doesn’t automatically mean that you have a mem problem, but it can be a primary suspect.
i think most of the time, physical dump of memory is telling you that it encountered a fatal error like a misconfigured setting (driver conflicts, applications) or a hardware failure (which is the RAM in most cases). do you still remember the exact dump error code displayed on your screen?
if you just bought the RAM, it could be unmatched to your board specs. eg. if your board specs manual says you pc200, you should be using pc200.
if it’s been running for quite awhile, try removing the mem card from its slot, clean the pins with a rubber eraser. place it back on the slot and see if you can get through in safe mode. in Safe Mode, go to Control Panel>System>Advanced>Settings under Strtup and recovery section, untick the ‘automatically restart’ box. you can change the memory dum to ’small memory dump 64k’. that’s for the reboot only. it can be replaced by a blue screen with lotsa details and parameters that’ll give more clue which one causes the problem.
in safe mode still, you can use System Restore and track back to the date you recall your pc was working a-okay. catch: System Restore works only when this physical dump isn’t about hardware issue.
formatting is a good LAST resort, only if it’s NOT a hardware problem.
One more notes: i assumed you’re working on a desktop.

The codes has changed over time. We initially had the pc at xp, and when we had it at win2000, it showed a different set of codes as well.
Now since the pc has already been reformatted over and over, are we then to assume that this is a hardware problem? I’ll check with my brother about the rubber eraser and the static thing, we’ll see if it pulls up the best. DSL’s being wasted without the other pc working, so… *shrugs* I’m seriously hoping to fix this site soon too, and all my resources are in that computer. I don’t want to have to buy a laptop as a last resort.
Another thing to note: Everytime my brother reformats, there were instances he could use the pc for a good few hours and everything seems pretty fine. It’s when it has been maybe restarted or something that it again crashes.
On the side, how hard is it btw to find a good memory compatibility for laptops? The lappy I’m eyeing is rather short on the RAM (128) and the HDD, and I’m planning to expand, but I’m a little afraid of finding a bad match over the internet. What’s the best way to know if they’re compatible?
Jesus. With all these questions and answers, I think I owe you a frap. Who is this, anyhow?

if it is a beginning physical memory dump, you can suspect that your program cant read a specific spot in the memory bank or that the memory can’t relay the function it was demanded to do, then it will flag up a fatal error message (thru a BSOD) for you to correct it. that’s how i interpret it. this is why RAMs are often suspected to cause the errors because they tend to be the gateway to make the operations run smoothly or be the so-called ‘bottleneck’ when it lacks the bandwidth do everything. i can be wrong, better ask someone else for that matter.
if you still have the manual of your computer, go ahead and check the board architecture. it should also show you the minimum and maximum RAM that you can use for the board. if you don’t want to buy a new RAM just yet, perform a memtest on the existing RAM. it’s a good habit to archive/bkup files and keep a recovery disk handy, in case you needed to repair/restore the system. formatting is not very encouraging for me as a user especially if i’ve loads of codec and plugins already running. i mean, if the media is still ok, it’s okay to lose one to three programs but not the entire customized set-up UNLESS the repair may eat much of the time like twice as much as when i format the computer. like in a car engine, maybe you just need to tune it up before you call an overhaul. for the computer, cleaning it up would be a good start. CPU fan, card pins, powersupply, motherboard.
laptop upgrades can be a little frustrating unless you can afford it and your price comparison is fair enough. i think it’s not a good idea to buy a laptop and then expand it, when you can always scout for a ntebook offers all the specs you wanted or even more than that.
what i’m personally ‘crushing’ at costs as much as a network gaming ready unit plus a wireless gateway. i think Lenovo (IBM) ThinkPad X61 Tablet PC or HP Pavilion Tx1110us Entertainment Notebook PC looks pretty and nice to front, although Dell notebooks are still my favorite wishful fallbacks.
i got your link while googling, bookmarked it after reading your fete de la musique entry. you have a nifty site, i think i made it as a tech forum extension by creating this thread, sorry.
still, good luck!
