Something from a forum that reviewed an XDA IIs:
Â
Yes….To the few that have been giving the thumbs down to this phone because of the BT problems, the patch is out and fixes those issues. All phones, computers, pocket pc’s, palm’s, etc….have problems when they first come out. If you buy a device when it first hits the market you must understand that there will be problems and that you need to relax and update as the patches come out. Don’t knock this device! It’s abosolutely great. I surf on the train to and from work, get my corporate email, place phone calls (to whoever said the call quality sucked, simply not true for my phone), play games, and listen to my music. I couldn’t be happier!
My advice to all potential buyers for this and any other PPC, “You must be willing to tinker, reload, and reboot”. What that means is that this device while it is a phone, isn’t just a phone. So if you have problems loading software on your home computer or fixing your home computer, then I suggest you buy a Samsung phone and learn to install ringtones. It’s not meant for the technically challanged.
Â
Ayus.
Â
Hahaha. I am so effing excited. I might just have a new XDA by Monday if all the outer forces would allow it. I might just get an XDA IIs instead of a Mini s, because the latter overalled 7.7 at CNET and an XDA IIs totalled an 8. Yes, I actually value CNET’s opinions, and I didn’t like the idea when they said the Mini s had a problem switching over to phone mode before you can make a call. Besides, as much as I like the design, I’m not sure I’m ready for an NGAGE type of phone which won’t allow me to text using just one hand. It’s already bad enough that these XDAs are hefty.
Â
Â
Anyhow, I won’t be making any move to buy it though up until I have finally explored all the options by surfing on forums when I get home. Company’s banning forums, so I can’t get a decent answer as to how far the XDA can extend its capabilities. I’m trying not to doubt that at this point because after all, a Microsoft Mobile OS can allow only a few quirks here and there. But as long as we have crackers out there and patches and upgrades, I am so perfectly fine.
Â
I just hope it doesn’t crash on me. Harhar.

Music: Sleep Don’t Weep - Damien Rice
         [ download here ]
Somehow, they’re making killing us subtle. In just a week, we’ve had 3 shift changes, and by next week, we’re pretty much still unsure of what our schedules and day-offs would be.
Â
So parang, Boss, kumuha ka na lang ng ballpen. Lagyan mo ng takip, ha. Tapos isaksak mo ng sobra sa dibdib ko.
Â
It’s just a good thing our sup is pretty sympathetic. Kinakaawaan na rin naman namin siya, eh, so just by looking at him burning 20 hours or so in the office and WITHOUT OT PAY, it kinda makes you feel a little better that at least everyone’s burning time and no one’s being too much of a hedonist except for the ceo.
Â
Argh. Talk about an effing imposed command to lose sleep at the snap of their fingers. Yes, it’s that redundant. Look, I honestly don’t mind, but at this point, I NEED AN O.T. Do you hear me, you barren four walls?! I NEED MONEY! GIVE ME MONEY FOR MY O2 XDA MINI S!!!!
Â
There. I said it out loud. Ladies and gentlemen, the mundane has spoken. My current obsession is now an O2 xda mini s. Yes, I effing want one. Actually, this has already been narrowed down to a list that has been placed under better scrutiny and much consideration:
Â
1) an HP or Toshiba laptop because of our still busted computer
2) an N95
3) an n73
4) a Zune player
5) a Creative Zen M player
6) an iPod Video
Â
Â
Let me explain further:
Â
1) The HP or Toshiba laptop has been up for consideration mostly because I was trying to come up with a smart idea of buying a low-end lappie for about 9k and refurbish them to my heart’s extent. I’m not sure if this is just me but recently there has been an influx of Japan made laptops currently being sold at dirt-cheap prices, like let’s say a Centrino with a 700MHz processor, 128mb RAM, and 10GB hdd–but, of course, you can upgrade it to a 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, and 120 GB HDD.
Â
However, Erwin Jori has set me straight by saying that, unlike desktops, laptops are normally upgradable, yes–but take note that some specs are not, as they come with the motherboard. So the 8mb video card and the 700MHz processor MAY be stuck, and no matter how huge your RAM and HDD is, it’ll be virtually useless if you can’t use it to your geeky side’s content.
Â
2) The N95 was an eye candy initially for Ger but as the bulk and the inconsiderate price are too hot to handle, it has remained in its eye-candy state. Actually, THAT eye candy state has been replaced by the Nokia 6110 Navigator, except it hasn’t reached our shores yet. Come to think of it, it hasn’t reached ANY of the shores yet. This is still in the drawing board. Or slated release is of this year, except we don’t know WHEN this year. But of course, the aesthetics and programs beat the N95 in most aspects especially with the GPS navigator program, as they’re aiming the 6110 to be the top navigator what with its titanium casing made to fit your car dashboard.
Â
But come to think of it, since I rarely get lost in Makati and my dad is still not allowing me to use his car, what’s the use?
Â
3) The N73 has been the immediate practical replacement to all our phone whims. There has been a lot, really. There’s the N80 and its soap bar illusion but wifi capabilities. There’s the 5700 with its music capabilities. There’s the N95 and its Carl Zeiss. So what’s the best way to reconcile all of them? Yup, the N73. Masa, but still distinctly business and pleasure. It doesn’t have wifi, but at least it’s a music phone with nice speakers, plus a Carl Zeiss optics boasting of 3.2 MP. Which, come to think of it, isn’t that bad, since it’s also very sleek and easy to throw around. I mean, lug around. This is so far working best for Ger, and I’m still taking this into consideration.
Â
4) The battle of the best specs has ended with the question of restoration: what happens when I need to change the battery? The Zune almost ruled with its great aesthetics and changeable background picture, plus the radio and the recorder. And of course, the perfect anti-iPod gadget. But, since we’re still in a screw-you Bill Gates mode, I’ve taken in to liking Creative Zen Vision M, which has so far the most outstanding features: 4 hours of battery time for video, VERY clear video capabilities, supports avi, mpeg, divx and other videos which cuts the slack in converting, plus the radio, the recorder, and…dig this–can adapt a usb functionality if you have a camera and you need to transfer pictures. Although only supported in the 60gb mode, but hey, this is not bad at all. Although Cowon still rules in terms of best functionality and sleek design, but hey, this is a pmp, and that practically over-rules the competition. But what happened to the battery? Zune, Cowon and Zen don’t have much battery replacements readily available, so chances are you have to buy them legit and have them sent over to the centers if you need to have the batt changed. Which boils it down to the consideration of…
Â
*drum roll*
Â
…the iPod Video.
Â
*wenk wenk wenk weeeeenk…*
Â
AT LEAST Poddies are so masa recently that there are cheap alternatives in terms of centers and battery replacements. Jesus, just go to your friendly neighborhood snob store CDR King and you’d get a batt replacement for only P500. But, of course, we still have the flaws:
Â
A) The ipod video is useless in terms of video capabilities. Why the fuck would you watch a video which should consume your battery for the whole 2 hours, and run dead on you. IF you like hitching your pod to the tv to be able to watch while your pod is charging, yeah, why not. But considering the resolution and the quality, it’s like looking at a pixelated 3d image. Titigan mo mabuti, baka may lumabas na 3D.
Â
B) Most Symbians have the capability of running a video as well. So why not utilize that, and save on the baggage?
Â
C) Do I really need a colored screen? Because I don’t really like looking at pictures while doing an emo trip. Vanity is not for the musically-inclined. Or at least not while you’re listening to the pod. Because in the first place, would you really need to do that while on the bus? Or while taking a jog? Or, for all the other possibilities, like making love with Dido’s song on eternal repeat–WOULD YOU REALLY BE LOOKING AT PICTURES?!
Â
Â
So what I’ll just be doing is try to refurbish Danielle in hopes she doesn’t die on me, have about 10 or so hours more, and surf on wifi with my xda.
Â
Yeah. Doesn’t that make you feel so corporate? Now I just need to overtake that darm PM’s position.

Â
Something’s wrong, Pulp. You shouldn’t have left it out. But kudos to the absolutely cute poster.
Â
Â
Another event, from Ger’s friend Chabs: Exclusive all-girls party at Mugen Bar, Metrowalk Ortigas. About 9 or 10pm, depending on how late you come around. P200 entrance, P28 beers. I’m not sure if entrance is inclusive of beer, though. BUT, lots of girls, femmes, sbs, bs, bis, and cat fights. And no, Nani, if you’re reading this, you’re not allowed. You may be a very yummy guy, but yummy guys are still not allowed. Or just guys in general.
Â
Eggie’s not coming, but Stacy, Dei, Ger and I will, and Sarah from college will be coming as well. So that would also include her girlfriend Bench, plus other minions, plus other DL folks. So that’s kind of…a lot. Want to be a part of the list? Just message.
Â
And of course, we have our usual SaGuijo, Bed, and Freedom Bar. Plus Greenbelt. Tarush. Kita kits. Message me if you want to come along.
Â
+_+
Â
If you see my site update with suddenly so many blog entries with different dates, forgive my incapability to update real time. Our computer is still down, as much as my brother claims it’s fixed.
Â
I’m actually worried that there’s a really bad worm that not even formatting can fix. He says the pc is fine, has been re-formatted twice or thrice, BUT, whenever *I* use it, internet explorer becomes faulty, then the pc crashes altogether. it just restarts by itself. He says it doesn’t happen to him, though. I’m now more worried because it’s either a very bad worm that hates me, or some ghosts pulling my leg because I’m mostly doing the net at around 1am.
Â
Still. Would you really risk having to install lotsa programs only to find out you won’t be able to use them anyway because the pc’s gonna crash on you? And Adobe Photoshop doesn’t even have auto recovery.
Â
+_+
Â
Up to how much emo can I tolerate at this point? Whoosh. If it weren’t for the fact that my limewire is down, I would have been on a The Sundays downloading spree.
Â
Wala lang. Minsan kasi fun maging happy song ang something unhappy.
Â
+_+
Something according to Kym, a batchmate:
“Di, yung kapitbahay ko kasi. Sabi nila, I have to be polite (to the person she’s waging war with)… you–STOP FUCKING MY BROTHER!!!“
Shet. Pwede ko bang sabihin din yun sa akin? Stop. Fucking. My. Brother.
Kaso they’re married. Paano yun?
*laughs ridiculously*

Believe me when I say they’re just not letting me express myself. Effing string of events are leading to my ineffectual blogging. Or just intangible blogging–that being wala rin akong naisusulat. Pinaganda lang.
Â
Computer’s been down and my brother still hasn’t fixed the OS. Got corrupted due to a bad program gone wrong at the worst. Good thing it gave me time to back up, but not enough time to stay around and surf. Then, office’s internet has blocked most of the sites we could go to and limiting it strictly to business. My site CAN be opened, but I just don’t want to let it get to a point that it would be blocked. Ebay lets us surf, except of course, just for business as well. So when I open my mail and find that there are comments in my site, in Friendster, or in Downelink, it’s just like so effing down syndrome that won’t get out. So there.
Â
What is up with the effing world. Let’s enumerate:
Â
1) FETE DE LA MUSIQUE is back on its slated yearly one-night pull off performance in… drum roll here… MALATE! Yes. Oh god oh god oh god. The land of the rising jologs and queer individuals–and I’m not even talking about gays here. They just LOOK queer. And Fete de la Musique is to be hosted in these grounds.
Â
Not much of an option, but let’s base it on the previous locations:
Â
2004 had it at Eastwood City, Libis. It rained hard, but the party just won’t be broken up. Still such a memorable grand performance for the World stage which had Cynthia Alexander and Pinikpikan getting everyone to dance around. JP and EJ and JC. All three Js spent the next hours drinking at JP’s house afterwards.
Â
2005 had Ortigas, occupying the areas in Podium, El Pueblo and some other areas around it. Booze taken from most 7-11 and Mini Stop areas–pick your choice. Barbie was seen watching the alternative scene in the spectators’ area before her performance–something that thrilled Paul, who was with me at the time. Electronica room was still a blast, and Wolfmann was still literally alive.
Â
2006 had Mall of Asia. I don’t know what happened, I wasn’t even informed. When I was, it was already done. Bad, JP.
Â
2007 have… Malate.
Â
Okay.
Â
Kung sabagay, what the hell can we do–we don’t have that much places to hold it anyway. They COULD hold it at the new Trinoma, but since I haven’t really been there I’m not sure if it’s gonna be that wide. Or maybe in Makati, or Ortigas ulit.
Â
Sigh. Okay, I concede. It’s just that Malate brings out bad memories of lap dances and macho dancers with bow ties.
Â
2) ACCORDING TO MY OTHER GAY BESTFRIEND, there were gunshots heard at SM Bacoor yesterday–Monday, June 18. He happened to be there with his pregnant sister and was fortunate enough to whisk her out of there before anything happened.
Â
I’m trying to look up possible news about it. Nothing on the net. And I didn’t get to chance upon the news on the telly last night. So that kinda left me hanging. Anyone knows something ’bout this?
Â
Shet. Para tuloy yang yung nakita ko si Rico Blanco sa may kanto ng Greenbelt at Paseo na kayakap si
Â
Â
Â
3) I CANNOT SLEEP RECENTLY and it’s starting to get me off my rocker. Well, I can, actually, but not immediately as I used to ALWAYS feel sleepy after I come home at 1am. So I normally fall asleep at 4. What do I do in between those times? I clean. That’s absolutely scaring me. I don’t normally clean in the wee hours of the morning–and definitely not the type to clean it down to every detail.
Â
That’s why I kinda saw a compilation of some blogs I made over at my satellite site [satellite site...naks.] at mindsay.com when I had an alternate personality as a boy by the name of… fuck, ano ngang name ko dun? Joshua, I think. I printed them all before saving them all along with other past blogs off to another hidden blogsite. Even some letters, old diaries, and even mediocre literary pull-offs. Reading them again’s kind of a hard whiplash–all the memories, feelings, songs, tears, laughter and pain’s encapsulated in words much much more expressive than mine today. And that was no less than five years ago.
Â
You kinda wonder, in five years, a lot’s going to happen. You’re just never really gonna know if it’s for the better or for worse.
Â
Â
4) WORK IS AGAIN BEING A PAIN when it’s asking for something more than you bargained for. When we came to this company, one of the things we considered was the dress down policy which we were all too happy for. NOW, the effing PM is asking everyone to dress up. Yes, not the whole company, just our program in the 26th floor. Everyone’s contesting, but we’re still trying to figure a way to kick her out of her effing throne and create a ruckus.
Â
But, of course, as trained by Ger, I along with her again looked for ways to get around things till we can finally find a hole–that, we’re gonna make sure we’ll bust. So I kinda bought these nice new Nikes at Nike Womens in Gateway, something that can be passed off as semi-casual but originally for yoga. I think.
Â
Wow. I found out, after not buying shoes from a department store for such a long time, that MY foot size is actually 8. I’m a size 8. Then how come MY rubbers are always 5.5? Apparently, all the sizes I’ve been getting in Greenhills and Cartimar are for males. Would you believe that. Yea, men’s sizes are about one and a half lower than women’s.
Â
So what does that say for my Vans that is HOT PINK and über KIKAY? Is that also for Men?!?!
Â
—————————————————————-
Â
Â
I’m getting a little estranged with life.
Â
I kinda don’t know why.
